Gardening gifts for bad backs!

It can be difficult thinking of present ideas for the keen gardener in the family. They are most likely to have all the essential garden tools and may have been inundated over the years with ceramic mugs adorned with suitable gardening logos or have a large selection of floral gardening gloves.
So, what can you buy which is both useful and innovative? For older gardeners, or for those who need to be careful not to strain the back, anything which saves bending down too much and over-stretching back muscles would be much appreciated.
Grab and Lift paddles are affordable at around £20 and are ideal for clearing leaves in the Autumn, as the long handles save bending down. Or how about a couple of pot movers – usually circular in shape, made of strong metal with caster wheels on the bottom – which help gardeners to move large pots around the patio without the need for any heavy lifting. Most good gardening suppliers sell a good choice of long-handled trowels and forks. A long handled weed puller, with strong stainless steel claws will help with the dreaded chore of weeding, even tackling long dandelion roots.
So, search online or look on the shelves of your local garden centre and you may just find the perfect present for the gardener in your life!
