Growing Shrubs In Pots

Shrubs thrive growing in containers, and if grown the right way can end up being a focal point in your garden. Growing shrubs in containers is a very good way in growing plants that your garden can’t grow.

When picking a pot to plant in, choose one which is large enough for the roots in your plant to grow, whilst being heavy enough to balance growth.

When planting, mix in a handful of fertiliser granules which will feed your plants for several months. If you’re growing shrubs in ericaceous compost, can be given a special fertiliser they’re acid-loving.

Make sure to water the pots regularly, even if rain has fallen. Shrubs have a massive root system, meaning they take up a lot of water. During the summer, they’ll need watering twice a day.
